IndiGo flew the first services, Akasa Air joined on 16 June, and Air India Express also flies from the airport; by early July the schedule stood at roughly 40–45 daily flights across 16–17 destinations, with international operations targeted for end-2026. Phase 1 is rated for about 12 million passengers a year.
Is Jewar airport bigger than IGI?
Not by passenger numbers — IGI Delhi's projected maximum sits near 100 million passengers a year, while Jewar begins at about 12 million and reaches roughly 70 million at full scale.
